![]() I think everyone's been waiting long enough. Please for the love of god give us something. Whatever you feel it's still lacking you can add in the form of a DLC. You guys REALLY need to tie up the loose ends and get this out there. I want a general "Next month", "before June 2020", "February 14th 2020 at 1:14:22.3PM EST" As long as its something. I might remove it from my wishlist and forget about it if there isn't even the most general ETA soon. I'm sorry if this is rude or mean, but I've just had this anger about this building for months and months and frankly i'm really starting to loose hopes about this game. You can add DLCs if you feel the game isn't completely finished like you did with Hollow Knight, I would be happy if a game i'm enjoying or did enjoy got a bunch of new content suddenly. Every day i care a little less about if its as full as hollow knight, and i just want to play the game. Don't tease it most of a year (if not more, there are still ZERO updates tmk) before release, if you don't know, don't say anything. I remember somewhere you said that you wanted to wait until the game was as expansive as Hollow Knight, and i figured that was fair. I've excitedly checked for a release date every single day like a kid on christmas day for past 9 months and all that ever greats me is the same "Release Date: TBA". ![]() I've had Silksong on the very top of my Steam wishlist since day one and 9 months later it still doesn't even have the most general release date. But you people explicidly announced on more then one occasion that Silksong was going to be released "Soon". It will be available on Game Pass from day one. It's one thing to release a teaser trailer nearly a year before release (so far), Its one thing to do this and not really know when your game will be done. Whenever it does appear, Hollow Knight: Silksong will be released on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X. Originally conceived as an expansion for the original Hollow Knight featuring that game’s antagonist/ally Hornet as the main character, Silksong has grown into a full-fledged sequel - and, it appears, quite an ambitious one. Silksong was first announced in 2019, but Team Cherry’s subsequent yearslong silence about its development, with the exception of that 2022 trailer, has turned desperate fans’ futile hopes for news from any and every platform-holder showcase into a kind of meme. A late 2023 release or slip into 2024 seem likely. Team Cherry’s refusal to commit to a release date for Silksong is probably just a sensible precaution, although the wording of the tweet does not suggest the game will be out soon. Griffin’s message effectively rules out any appearance by Silksong in the Xbox and Summer Game Fest showcases filling the hole left by this year’s canceled E3. Silksong was originally meant to be a paid DLC expansion for Hollow Knight, which would add a new playable character to the game. We're excited by how the game is shaping up, and it's gotten quite big, so we want to take the time to make the game as good as we can. The reason fans are expecting Silksong to appear is due to a leak that may have revealed its release date, which could happen in early 2022. ![]() We had planned to release in the 1st half of 2023, but development is still continuing. ![]() Hey gang, just a quick update about Silksong. Expect more details from us once we get closer to release.” “We’re excited by how the game is shaping up, and it’s gotten quite big, so we want to take the time to make the game as good as we can. “We had planned to release in the 1st half of 2023, but development is still continuing,” Griffin wrote. ( Silksong is hardly the only casualty from that showcase, which also featured Starfield, Forza Motorsport, and several other games which have been delayed into late 2023 and beyond.) But it made an appearance in trailer form during Microsoft’s June 2022 showcase, which purported to only feature games due out in the following 12 months. In fact, Silksong has never had an official release date. Matthew Griffin from developer Team Cherry made the announcement on Twitter, saying simply that “development is still continuing,” and declining to give an expected release window for the game. Hollow Knight: Silksong, the long, long awaited sequel to the beloved 2017 indie hit Hollow Knight, will not make it out in the first half of 2023 (hardly surprising at this point, since we’re already well into May).
